The Scholarship Foundation (DASF) is part of the Virginia Education Improvement Scholarship Tax Credit Program which provides scholarships to low income students at a Diocese of Arlington Catholic School. Benefactors receive 65% of their approved gift in Virginia tax credits. Benefactors who itemize also receive a Virginia tax deduction and a partial federal tax deduction. Gifting appreciated stock also avoids capital gains taxes – contact our office for a stock donation form
Benefactors may fill out the preauthorization application and submit directly to the DASF office for approval.
These gifts, in addition to giving you, the benefactor, a tax benefit, will provide a life-changing education for our low-income students.

This year nearly 4,600 children in our diocese are waiting to find out if they have seat in one of our Catholic schools for the upcoming school year. That answer depends on the generosity of supporters like you.

Last year, through the generosity of so many, we were able to help 518 children.
Because the Diocese of Arlington Scholarship Foundation participates in the Virginia Education Improvement Scholarship Tax Credits (EISTC) program, when you give you will receive a Virginia State Income Tax Credit of 65% for every dollar you give. In addition, you are eligible for a federal tax deduction on the remaining 35% of your gift.

To receive the Virginia state income tax credit for your gift, the state requires that you complete a Pre-Authorization Form and receive approval before making your donation.
Once you complete the form, the Scholarship Foundation staff will follow up with you within 48 hours with your approval notice.
When you have your approval notice, you may mail it with your check made payable to the Diocese of Arlington Scholarship Foundation (DASF) at 200 North Glebe Rd., Suite 811, Arlington, VA 22203

Get Pre-Approved
Your gift to the Scholarship Foundation does more than open a classroom door. As a part of the Virginia Education Improvement Scholarship Tax Credit Program, which funds tuition for low-income students at Diocese of Arlington Catholic schools, you receive back 65% of your approved gift as Virginia tax credits. This means your generosity comes back to you nearly as much as it goes out to a student in need. Every dollar you give is a dollar of hope, tuition, and opportunity for a child who might not otherwise have this chance.
